Earth & Ash: Goddesses

Encaustic torso figures on heavy paper — peat ash from Irish boglands, water from St. Brigid's holy well, beeswax, fire, and gold. Built in layers, carved, and fused with sun, antique irons and sun, then torn free so each form lifts off the surface and casts its own shadow. Body and land at once: islands of skin, relics of a place named for a goddess.

Mounted with magnets on a gold circle panel or black inked wood panel, or floats off the wall unframed.
