GO BIG! - Working Large - Encaustic 3-day Intensive (Intermediate and Advanced)
July 25-27, 2025 | Friday-Sunday | 10:30am-4:30pm | $550
This workshop is designed for those who want to elevate their skill level and expand in scale. We will be covering the many issues inherent to scaling up and tackle the complications of working large. This workshop will dive deep and will walk you through the multitude of challenges with scaling up to ‘large’ works.
Encaustic painting sings in larger formats, but working at this scale presents unique challenges. After years of experience across various sizes and subjects (including a 7ft x 7ft piece!), I've refined techniques to minimize frustration, cost, and physical strain. In this workshop, we'll explore mixed media approaches, address physical considerations for your body, and discuss practical solutions for transporting and displaying large-scale encaustic work.
Are you ready to explore this next level?
I’ll have plenty of materials for you, including encaustic medium, paint, and pigment sticks. After you register, I’ll send a short list of things to bring—like your favorite tools, collage or mixed media bits, and a panel or two (I’ll include suggested sizes). Additional panels and beautiful heavyweight Khadi watercolor paper (300 lb / 600 gsm) will be available in the studio. I try to keep the supply list simple—especially if you're traveling.
A huge shout out to R&F handmade paints generous support of educators and workshops around the world. It is a privilege to share their fabulous materials as one of their Artist instructors.

By registering and/or attending this class in any form (online, email, pay service, cash payment, credit or trade) you agree to assume all responsibility for non-refundable expenses including but not limited to travel and lodging. Travel insurance is encouraged.
