Earth & Ash: Irish Goddesses on Paper is a series of encaustic torso figures built from peat ash collected in the bogs of Ireland, water drawn from St. Brigid's holy well, beeswax, and fire. Each form is built up in layers, burned, carved, and fused — then torn free from the surface so it lifts off the panel and casts its own shadow. The figures read as body and land at once: islands of skin, relics of a place named for a goddess.
Each piece is mounted with magnets on either a gold-leaf circle panel or a black wood panel floated off the wall, depending on size.
